Does Your Child Need Help?
Some struggles are normal. Moodiness, anxiety, and social and school difficulties are all bumps in the road and are usually temporary and often present opportunities for your child to develop new skills.
However, sometimes a normal childhood difficulty can turn into something more serious. If your child feels bad about themselves or becomes less confident, you may consider seeing a therapist.
Other signs that your child may need counseling include the following:
- Defiant behaviors
- A sudden shift in usual interests and habits
- Regressions
- Excessive worrying and sadness
- Social isolation
- A significant change in sleep habits or appetite
- Repetitive, self-destructive behaviors
They are goal-oriented. I feel like I have something to check off.
